The Billfish Foundation (TBF) maintains that if the situation is not reversed so as to allow billfish stocks to remain at or above maximum sustainable yield (MSY), recreational fishing opportunities, the ocean ecosystem, and economies dependent upon healthy abundance of billfish in the water will suffer tremendously.
